I was commissioned by BHAFC Fanzine Dogma to design a compelling poster for the zine and website which led me to embark on a unique Brighton print project titled, "We’ve come a long, long way together" as featured in Dogma Issue 10. It resulted in a limited edition of 50 screen prints. The first buyer was Norman Cook, highlighting the project’s impact and after successfully selling over half of the prints demonstrates my artistic skills and the ability to create work that appeals widely, including to notable figures in the creative industry.

Background

With a head brimming with incredible memories from the last 20+ years, I felt an irresistible urge to channel these experiences into this initiative.
I kicked off this project by using an image of London Road as a backdrop. This road I think is the cultural epicentre of Brighton’s distinctive eccentricity. The piece is teeming with figures of Albion players and characters from 2000 to 2023.
My journey with Albion began when I was 9, back in 2009. The club used to generously give away tickets to schools on the Friday before matches. Lucky enough, I landed two tickets to the MK Dons match at the Withdean stadium.
My fondness for the Albion was further cemented in Year 5 during a catch-up maths class held in a Withdean portacabin. Taking an arguably unnecessary toilet break, I happened upon the Manager's office. There, behind his desk, sat the man himself. Unable to resist, I knocked on Gus Poyet's door and asked for a photo. He kindly obliged, joining our maths class for a group photo that, regrettably, got lost in digital chaos.
Since the Amex opened, I've been a loyal season ticket holder and have probably indulged in about 900 chicken and ham pies!
